The aim of this study was to assess the impact of prone and supine positions on arterial oxygen saturation of preterm infants weaned from mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit. In this research, the population under study was preterm Infants admitted to the hospital who weaned from mechanical ventilation. Early diagnosis of neonates was respiratory distress syndrome and they were Dependent of oxygen. Infants were excluded if they need re intubation. Samplings were constantly and accessibly done on 40 infants. Each infant was his/her own control. The first infant position determined randomly. Then Changing position continued alternatively until the last infant. The duration of placing in each position was 3 hours. Percentage of arterial oxygen saturation in each position measured each fifteen minutes and recorded in questionnaires.
