Determining the Effect of Patient Safety Education through Problem-Based Learning on Patient Safety Knowledge, Attitude, Perception and Communication Skills in Nursing Students of Urmia School of Nursing and Midwifery in 2019-2020
Design
This study will be a quasi-experimental study. The number of these students will be 90 students who will be divided into intervention and control groups. After introducing the students to the students and expressing their goals and methods of work to the participants, the researcher will obtain written consent from the researcher.
Settings and conduct
The project will be located in the Urmia Hospital for Medical Education. The researcher will refer to the research environment, which is an educational and medical center after being approved by the Faculty Research Council and obtaining approval from the University Ethics Committee. According to the admission criteria, fourth-year students will be selected in the fall semester 1398, who are eligible to participate in the study.

Nursing Students of Urmia University of Medical Sciences, School of Nursing and Midwifery
Intervention groups
In this study, an intervention booklet on patient safety knowledge will be delivered to the intervention group first. There will also be 8 problem-solving training sessions for this group. The students in the intervention group will be divided into 5 small groups of up to 9 people. The control group will not receive any intervention. In this study, problem-based learning will be implemented in seven stages.

Description
This study will provide problem-based learning during 8 sessions of concepts related to knowledge, attitude and perception as well as patient safety-based communication skills for 7th and 8th semester nursing students in clinical settings. The use of scenarios designed in each session will be presented to students and discussed in a problem-based learning manner. The duration of each session will be 45 minutes.
