The aim of this study was to investigate the acute effect of eccentric knee contraction with restricted blood flow on QT interval corrected during repetition and recovery in healthy men.
Design
A clinical trial with an exercise group with limited blood flow and without it, healthy men, a cross-overmethod was used via random Excel.
Settings and conduct
It is performed in the exercise physiology laboratory of Shahid Beheshti University with an isokinetic device. Restriction of blood flow is applied with a blood pressure cuff of 80% of systolic blood pressure. Lead II electrocardiogram is recorded.

The training protocol was included eccentric contraction of the quadriceps and hamstring muscles on the isokinetic equipment at the rate of 60 degrees of movement per second unilaterally (the dominant foot). Training sessions were performed under loading of 30% of MVC with BFR five times, each respectively with 30, 15, 15, and 15 repetitions, and assigning 60-second recovery intervals for each repetition.
We used a cuff (13 cm in width and 9 cm in length) to reduce blood flow in the thigh area by applying pressure through inflating the pump manually. The cuff was fitted at the highest point of the thigh and inflated with a hand pump until the desired pressure to reduce the target blood flow. For this, the pressure applied to the end of the thigh was 80% of the systolic blood pressure in rest. In the second group, we performed extroverted resistance training with a loading of 70% of MVC without BPR as in the same protocol. The sports electrocardiograph belt recorded lead II. QT and RR intervals were measured at each repetition and recovery.

In total, they were randomly divided into 2 groups through crossover method and two groups performed the desired protocols simultaneously in each session with 2 different training methods. In the next session, they do the opposite exercise. In the first session, one of the two exercises was randomly identified for each person through a table of random numbers.
