Determining the effect of education based on health belief model on preventive behaviors of Covid 19 in industrial workers
Design
A randomized controlled trial with two parallel groups
Two industrial units for the experimental group and for the control group are selected by lottery. The participants in the study are also selected by lottery. The sample size for each group is 42 people. Not blinded.
Settings and conduct
This study is conducted in Khomein County. First, the questionnaire is completed by workers. After analyzing the information and assessing the educational needs of workers, in the next step, the educational intervention is done in the treatment group based on the health belief model and preferably through social networks. One month later, the questionnaires are completed again and the data, before and after the intervention, will be analyzed with SPSS software.Not blinded.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria:
Basic literacy (reading and writing)،Possibility of access to Internet and social networks،Full-time worker on the production line،Tendency to participate in the study
Intervention groups
In this interventional study, 84 industrial workers are evaluated in two groups of treatment (training) and control. Both groups receive routine training related to Covid-19 disease, whereas in the treatment group, the educational intervention is provided based on the model of health belief as well as needs assessment, and preferably through cyberspace. Knowledge level, attitude and constructs of the health belief model in the groups before the intervention and also one month later will be evaluated and compared.

For sampling, a list prepared of indoor industrial units with more than 50 workers. Two industrial units are simple randomly select as treatment and control. From each unit, the workers been determined who have the inclusion criteria; and based on the table of random numbers of workers, the participants in the study have been simple randomly chosen, finally. Each industrial unit is defined as a randomization unit.
