Study aim
Comparing the effectiveness of Children of Divorce Intervention Program(CODIP) and parents training program based on Assisting Children Through Transition (A.C.T.) on problematic beliefs, emotional regulation and psychological well-being of children of divorce
Design
The clinical trial has a control group with parallel groups, unblinded, randomized, on 39 patients who are selected randomly based on the rand function of Excel software.
Settings and conduct
This study will be conducted in the Etemad Counseling Center of Sari city. Before the study and immediately after the intervention, the control and experimental groups will complete the questionnaires of the problematic beliefs of divorce, the emotional regulation scale and the psychological well-being scale.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Children of divorce aged 8 to 10 years, Obtaining low score in the adjustment scale of children of divorce, Having the written consent of both parents, Child living with one parent at the time of intervention
Intervention groups
The first intervention group: this group participates in the Children of Divorce Intervention Program(CODIP) in 15 sessions for 45 minutes. The second intervention group: This group participates in the parents training program based on Assisting Children Through Transition (A.C.T.) in 6 sessions for 2 hours. The third intervention group: This group does not participate in any of the training programs and does not receive the usual care.

Inclusion criteria:

Randomization description
In this study, divorced children are divided into two intervention groups and one control group by simple randomization and lottery. In this method, each child is given a unique number and written down in a sheet, and their names are hidden. Then, by someone outside the research, the numbers are randomly selected and placed in three groups. In the next step, random application will be done. Based on the lottery, one group is selected as the control group, one group as the first intervention group, and one group as the second intervention group.

Description
The first intervention: Children Of Divorce Intervention Program (CODIP) is a preventive program that includes 15 sessions of 45 minutes and is implemented twice a week. This program is based on the program of Pedro-Carroll & Jones (2005) and includes 4 general areas: 1-emotions, family and family changes, 2- coping skills (learning how to deal with problems and emotions), 3- child relationships and parents and 4- children's perception of themselves and their families. Each session includes objectives, activities (eg, stories, puppetry, interactive games), materials, procedures, and review questions.

Description
The second intervention: the parent training program based on Assisting Children Through Transition (A.C.T.) is a preventive program that includes 6 sessions of 120 minutes that are implemented once a week. This program is an expanded form of the original program by Pedro Carroll (2010). The content of these sessions includes 1- risk and understanding emotions, 2- preparing children for the changes of divorce and providing positive approaches for difficult decisions according to the children's developmental age, 3- examining the dangers of unresolved conflict and anger management.4- Acquiring skills to strengthen children's resilience, 5- Parenting with emotional intelligence and 6- New relationships, dating and remarriage.
