To determine the effectiveness of Lyubomirsky Happiness Training Program on life satisfaction, positive and negative emotions, and optimism in burn patients

Design

The experimental group (20 participants) will participate in six sessions of happiness training with Lyubomirsky, while the control group (20 participants) will not receive any intervention. Experimental group will receive happiness training of Lyubomirsky method during six group sessions of 90 minutes (once a week for 1.5 months), while the control group will not receive any intervention. After the end of the training session, a post-test will be conducted for both groups of participants.

Settings and conduct

The study aiming to investigate the effect of the Happiness of Lyubomirsky training program on life satisfaction, positive and negative emotions, and optimism in burn patients, Isfahan. Questionnaires on life satisfaction, positive and negative emotions, and optimism will be used to collect data.
The experimental group will undergo the Lyubomirsky happiness training program for 6 sessions, while the control group will not receive the program.

Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (a) Burn patients with medical records at Imam Musa Kazem Educational and Medical Center, Isfahan, in 2025. (b) Burn patients between 17 and 58 years of age.
The exclusion criteria: (a) Burn patients who were not registered at Imam Musa Kazem Educational and Medical Center, Isfahan. (c) Burn patients in the age range of 17 to 58 years; (d) Patients with no formal education.

Intervention groups

Burn patients with medical records at Imam Musa Kazem Educational and Medical Center in Isfahan will be placed into groups of control and experimental groups.

Main outcome variables
-
The Lyubomirsky Happiness Program can significantly increase life satisfaction, optimism, and positive emotions, as well as reduce negative emotions.
