Study aim
Comparing the effectiveness of rehabilitation focused on phonological awareness and computer-based cognitive rehabilitation on reading efficiency, visual attention, and phonological loop performance of working memory in primary school dyslexic male students
Design
The statistical population of this study includes all male elementary school students with specific learning disorders such as dyslexia. The study has a control group with parallel groups, and 14 people will be selected from the statistical population for each group using purposive sampling
Settings and conduct
The present research design will be an applied research in terms of purpose, and an experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, and follow-up with a control group in terms of method. This research will be conducted in Isfahan
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria for the study will include having a specific learning disorder of the reading type, not receiving other dyslexia interventions, not having another psychiatric disorder, and not taking psychiatric medications. The exclusion criterion for the study is absenteeism of more than two sessions
Intervention groups
Intervention 1: Rehabilitation focused on phonological awareness. The general framework of rehabilitation focused on phonological awareness, the structure and content of the sessions, has been developed based on the research of Soleimani and Dastjerdi Second intervention: Computer-based cognitive rehabilitation, this intervention will be carried out with the Captain's Log computer cognitive software. Control group: selected based on inclusion criteria and will not receive any intervention
