Study the therapeutic effect of cellular fibrin membrane with dental pulp mesenchymal stem cells in treatment of ocular chemical injuries in human- A phase 1&2 clinical trial
Determining the therapeutic effect of cellularized fibrin membrane with primary tooth pulp mesenchymal stem cells in the repair of chemical burns of the human ocular surface - Phase 1 and 2 clinical trial
Design
Clinical trial without control group on 30 subjects, community based, not blinded, Non-randomised controlled study
Settings and conduct
This study is being conducted in the field of ophthalmology. The location of the study is Shafa Hospital and the Comprehensive Center for Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine of Kerman University of Medical Sciences. After the patient is selected by the physician, the fibrin membrane made with mesenchymal stem cells from the pulp of the primary tooth is cellularized and transplanted into the patient's eye by the physician. The patients will be followed up 7 and 28 days after the transplant.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adults aged between 18-40 years Patients with severe corneal epithelium defect Patients with favorable prognostic factors Patients with normal intraocular pressure Patients with normal light perception that shows the health of nerve of eye Patients with no retina disease Patient with no severe dry eye Exclusion Criteria: Patients with severe systemic disorders Patients with mental disorders Pregnant women
Intervention groups
The cellular fibrin membrane is prepared with mesenchymal stem cells from the pulp of the deciduous tooth. It is then transplanted into the patient's eye. The patient will be examined 7 and 28 days after the transplant. And the results before and after are compared.
Main outcome variables
transparency of the cornea, corneal smooth surface, no evidence of vascularization in cornea
